Versal Adaptive SoC Power Management

This page provides tips and examples of power management solutions for the Versal Adaptive SoC Core, Prime, and Premium.

Versal power management was designed to have similar APIs to MPSoC power management. The documentation in the Software Solutions support both.

The Versal Power Tool lets the user monitor the power of his design during development. This is available through the AMD Evaluation Board BEAM Tool, but also can be run from the Python3 command prompt. Part 4 contains code snippets how to extend the measurement system to 1 ms intervals (like scope), to support a 48 hour measurement with logging, customized UI, etc.

The Versal Adaptive SoC Technical Reference Manual (AM011) covers the concepts of Power Domains, Power Islands, and Power States. The Versal Software Developer Guide (UG1304) covers the Bare Metal and generic APIs for the Power Management Framework. The Linux APIs for Power Management Framework are found at the Linux Power Management page below.
