Kits ZC702 Next Steps
Table of Contents
Introduction:
This page is a ZC702 Getting Started guide to provide the steps needed to learn how to use and develop with the ZC702 Evaluation Kit and the the ZC702 Zynq Video & Imaging Evaluation Kit (ZVIK).Step 1: Review Kit Product Page
For an overview and to buy a ZC702 kit, please go to Zynq®-7000 SoC ZC702 Evaluation Kit, or Xilinx Zynq-7000 SoC Video and Imaging Kit which includes all the basic components of hardware, design tools, IP, and pre-verified reference designs including a targeted design, enabling a complete embedded processing platform.Step 2: ZC702 Quick Start Guide
After you have received your ZC702 or ZVIK kit, open and follow the instructions found in ZC702 Quick Start Guide.Step 3: Running the ZC702 Video Demo Application
Run the ZC702 Video Demo Application. For step by step instructions how to bring up the ZC702 board for video demonstration part of the TRD and running different video demonstrations out of the box please view the instructions found in the Running Video Demo Applications section of the Zynq Base TRD Wiki.Step 4: Building a Hardware and Software Project
For an introduction to the Vivado Design Suite and more information on how to Build a Hardware and Software Project targeting the ZC702 evaluation kit, please watch this 30 min video. It will provide you with the step by step on creating a Vivado Embedded project, where you will create a project, select the ZC702 evaluation board as a target, using Vivado IPI to select and configure the IP needed to build an embedded platform. You will learn how to create and generate the hardware design, and then create and generate the software code to test the peripherals included in this project. When you are done, you will be able to download and configure the ZC702 evaluation kit with the peripheral test designs.- To watch the video, link to Build a Hardware and Software Project targeting the ZC702 evaluation kit
Step 5: Rebuilding and running the ZC702 Video Targeted Reference Design (TRD)
- For detailed information and description of the the base targeted reference design (TRD) targeting the ZC702 please link to the Zynq-7000 SoC ZC702 Base Targeted Reference Design User Guide This User Guide summarizes the modes of operation, and lists the TRD features.
- For a detailed description on how the ZC702 Video TRD was built, and how to edit and rebuild the project, please link to the Zynq Base TRD Wiki.
Step 6: 1080p60 Camera Image Processing Reference Design
If you have a ZVIK kit, or the required hardware, you can review and try the 1080p60 Camera Image Processing Reference Design is an application note and reference design that shows how to use a WUXGA color image sensor, and video I/O FPGA mezzanine card (FMC) with HDMI™ input and output allow for immediate development of video system software, firmware, and hardware designs. This application note describes how to set up and run the 1080p60 camera image processing reference design (camera design) using the ZVIK. Instructions are also included on how to build the hardware and software components as well as how to create the SD card boot image.Getting More Information:
